my summer job. thats what.

i'm back at work for the first time since i fell.
it's been nice to have a break from it and kind of be able to focus on school and stuff.
but im glad to be back.
sure, its nice to get a paycheck once every couple weeks.
but i genuinely love my job. especially when it means it entails seeing jewel and herbie hancock at the zoo, kayaking in the san juans, and rock climbing in leavenworth.

OFA ftw.

sunday, sweet sunday.

i've never been able to pick a side in the age old debate that sunday is the end of the week or the beginning of the week. whether the blessed day of homework, long strolls, and wasted afternoons is the welcomed wrap-up of a heinous week or the peaceful beginnings of a new one. either way, its always welcome here.

i instigated the 'desk reclamation act of 2k10" on thursday, meaning that i moved my desk so that i could actually use it as a desk. so here i sit, at my desk, either at the beginning or end of my week, and enjoying my room more than i think i ever have. i'm actually even getting stuff done.

so since i broke my foot about a week ago, i've taken up some new hobbies to pair with this new sedentary thing i'm going for. one hobby is actually doing my homework. which i think will be good in the long run. i've made a grassroots attempt to figure out the guitar again. i mean, its going okay, but if anyone wants to offer any enlightened hints, instruction, or help, it is encouraged. i've also picked up sewing a bit. again, help is welcomed.

i've also found my dream-mate. and artist who illustrated the things that i see in my dreams and nightmares long before i ever dreamt them. Sidney Sime:

whimsical, haunting, beautiful.

stay cool.

the end is nigh...

thats right.

one more final+one take home+one presentation=freedom.

i can tell its nearly over because i haven't eaten yet. nor have i slept much. and my brain feels like it'd be about the consistency as i'd imagine nickelodeon gak would be if you put it in the microwave for about 20 seconds.

jeff wall

the other day in one of my art history classes, we talked about photography! now, most people who know me can tell that photography is NOT one of my passions in life... never has been. i think im not patient enough for it. but i do appreciate it. this is Jeff Wall. he is good at photos. most of his stuff is form the late seventies, but his style has influenced photography since then. instead of just following the typical boring coherence of most photographers who spend their time repeating the same kinds of photographs once it becomes popular, he has experimented in many different styles. he just gets it. from his social commentary to post-minimalism... HE ROCKS.
